Information Overload

Our brains are suffering from information overload. It is like a 24/7 carnival of electronic stimulation. Don’t let the valuable information pass you by. Start an electronic file system that keeps track of all of your most important information and ideas.

I currently keep electronic files on marketing ideas, persuasion techniques, valuable websites, quotes, negotiating tips, business ideas, and more. In six months' time, I have referenced over 3,000 pieces of information from close to 20 years of files and books. This information will be invaluable once it is indexed in a more accessible manner. I encourage you to start doing the same.

  1. Caspturing information in a searchable format is a great idea. I still have trouble sorting through it all, but I do have thousands of good articles.

  8. I have so much stuff- books, audios, videos, info marketing, etc. I am in a state of mind now to absorb what I already have before I buy any more... until the next big product launch...

  9. I'd love to hear more about how you're handling this cataloguing exercise.

I'm struggling with a similar challenge at the moment and all I know for sure is that I haven't found the best way yet!

  10. Interesting way of doing things. I'm a self-confessed info-addict too.

Personally, I like to dig out little gems as I go through books, courses, etc... and write them on index cards.

It's the index cards I keep organized and refer to for inspiration, or to refresh my memory.

    All the best,
    Yann

  11. I would love to do the same. I have dozens of journals, thousands of hand written pages, full notebooks and hundreds, maybe thousands of books. To organize that would be miraculous. I wouldn't know where to start wonder if it is really necessary.

  13. I definitely need to make an electronic file. I just have little things written down all over the place so I can never find anything. Great idea.
